Buttock liposuction
Very controversial as it produces excess skin giving a "sagging buttocks" appearance; it ages the buttock by deepening the infragluteal folds through the excess skin that sags. For this reason, Dr Weiss does not liposuction the infragluteal fold as the result is most often contrary to the desired outcome. In young people, the infragluteal fold does not exist and becomes visible with age; it is not desirable to visually accelerate this ageing. Dr Weiss's approach is to liposuction the flanks, inner thighs and hips, to give the impression of much better formed, round, harmonious and proportioned buttocks.
In any case, buttock volume reduction without an associated buttock lift is inadvisable, as volume reduction without skin re-tensioning leads to sagging, aged and unsightly buttocks.
