The First Consultation with Your Cosmetic Surgeon, Dr Weiss

A successful procedure begins in the consultation room with a relationship of mutual trust and a deep understanding of the surgical approach.

Cosmetic surgery is not only the art of operating but also the art of listening and analyzing wishes, in order to meet patients' expectations and achieve an optimal, harmonious, and natural result. In two words: "Bespoke." The surgeon's work begins from the very first moments of the consultation.

Dr Weiss listens to you, as it is essential to understand your true desires, your hesitations, and your concerns. This is his advisory role.

It is necessary for the surgeon to understand the request and thus achieve a balance between the body and the perception of it. It is essential to guide, or sometimes even refuse the procedure when the request seems unreasonable or when the procedure risks not delivering the expected result.

Aesthetic and Medical Examination

Dr Weiss will conduct a thorough anatomical examination.

He will take into account your past and current medical condition.

Your request will then be analyzed to define your project as precisely as possible.

During the interview, you will be asked about your motivations, your medical and surgical history. The interview will conclude with a clinical examination. This consultation is accompanied by a photographic session.

Dr Weiss will verify the feasibility of your request and, thanks to his artistic expertise, he will guide your thinking and present the achievable results.

Surgical and Scientific Expertise

Dr Weiss will present his opinion and discuss your request with you. He will make the diagnosis and propose personalized solutions, specifying the advantages and disadvantages, and even the risks of each option.

Together you will consider how to achieve the most natural result. The proposed solutions will be best suited to your concerns and your anatomy.

Thanks to his knowledge of the most modern and safest techniques, you can choose with him the procedures aimed at providing you with the greatest satisfaction.

Dr Weiss will guide you in planning the procedures, sometimes combined, to maximize results: in certain cases, it is possible to improve the outcome with a complementary aesthetic medicine treatment.

Dr Weiss answers all your questions with precision (hospital stay, procedure, anesthesia, risks, post-operative follow-up, estimate, etc.).

You will also receive an estimate covering the total cost of the procedure and the mutual informed consent form (agreement to be operated on by Dr Weiss).

You will additionally receive a complete information pack on the proposed procedure to supplement the information provided orally.

As this involves a relationship of mutual trust between the doctor, the patient (and sometimes the partner), Dr Weiss will ask for a reflection period, which is both essential and mandatory.

Your request will be accepted provided it is reasonable and achievable. Dr Weiss will make no unrealistic or exaggerated promises, but will honour all his commitments.

The Second Cosmetic Surgery Consultation

A second consultation is mandatory, after the reflection period, during which you may ask additional questions regarding the information documents previously provided. You will then confirm your wish to undergo the procedure. Dr Weiss will provide all details about the technical and practical aspects of the procedure.

Finally, you will receive all the documents necessary for preparation and admission to the clinic. Practical arrangements will be explained (admission time, tests to be carried out, measurement for compression garments -- if needed --, confirmation of liposuction areas, volume of planned breast implants, etc.). In rhinoplasty cases, drawings will be made jointly with Dr Weiss to ensure mutual understanding of the proposed modifications.

Often, on the same day, you will complete the "Pre-admission," meaning all the formalities required to reserve your stay at the clinic.

The Anesthesiologist Appointment

Most often, the second consultation with Dr Weiss is followed by an appointment with an anesthesiologist. This appointment is arranged in advance by Dr Weiss's secretary. The anesthesiologist will inform you about the planned anesthesia and ensure there are no medical obstacles to the procedure. They will then give the "green light" to proceed and arrange everything to ensure maximum safety during your procedure, as of course zero risk does not exist.

The Day of Surgery

Everything is ready. You will arrive at the clinic the evening before the procedure, or on the day itself, at the previously indicated time.

After completing the administrative formalities at reception, you will be welcomed to your room, which will already be prepared for you.

You will then need to take a Betadine shower, put on the surgical gown, and you will be taken to the operating room for your procedure.

Before the operation, from the time specified by the anesthesiologist, it is extremely important that you remain fasting. You must not consume any food or drink.

If you have the slightest doubt or questions, the entire medical team, the nurses, the anesthesiologist, and Dr WEISS will be at your complete disposal to answer them.

If a medical issue arises during the pre-operative period, such as the flu, the procedure will be imperatively postponed so that you can undergo it under the best possible conditions.

In the operating room, you will be attended to by the team present.

Before being put to sleep, you will see Dr WEISS again, and if needed, he will make explanatory drawings of the operation.

After the procedure, once in the recovery room, you will receive all necessary pain medication. You will then be taken to your room to rest until your discharge from the clinic.

Post-Operative Hospital Stay

During your stay in your room, you will have access to a safe, telephone, and television. You will also be monitored by a medical team, day and night, with extreme rigor.

Medications prescribed by the anesthesiologist and Dr WEISS will be administered according to your condition. You will gradually regain your strength and will be able to leave the same day or the day after the procedure.

Clinic Discharge

At the agreed time between Dr WEISS, his secretary, and the people accompanying you, you will be prepared for discharge by the nursing team. In Dr WEISS's office, you will receive all post-operative information for the period from clinic discharge until the first post-operative visit, as well as all necessary prescriptions.

Dr WEISS's secretary, Nathalie, can assist you with all discharge formalities at the clinic reception.

If necessary, she can arrange a taxi or other transport, such as Uber.

Upon discharge, along with all prescriptions, you will be informed of the quickest ways to contact your medical team.

Post-Operative Follow-Up

Post-operative follow-up is personally managed by Dr WEISS until the end of healing and the achievement of the desired final result.

Generally, Dr WEISS personally performs the first bandage change and, if necessary, suture removal.

It is important to understand that proper post-operative follow-up plays an enormous role in achieving the expected result.

At each stage, Dr WEISS will indicate the guidelines to follow to optimize healing and the evolution of the modification made during the procedure.

The healing and follow-up process extends over several months. Complete healing takes approximately one year.

It will be particularly important to follow Dr WEISS's advice, as he will clearly explain, for each stage, the conduct to adopt and the steps to follow.

If any problem arises, Dr WEISS will always be by your side.

You will also always have access to his secretary, his clinic, and potentially directly to Dr WEISS.

It should not be forgotten that a fully successful procedure is composed of three essential elements: good information and appropriate indications, the operation itself, and post-operative follow-up.
