Cosmetic Surgery > Face
The face is the only part of the body where aesthetics becomes a function. Discover here the various facial cosmetic surgery procedures performed by Dr Weiss.
Throughout our lives, there can be a discrepancy between our face and our spirit, for two main reasons:
The first is the presence of an imperfection in facial morphology, a subjective perception, which can accompany us throughout our entire life, or which may be due to an accident.
If this imperfection is real, Dr Weiss (one of the few specialists with a diploma in Facial Surgery), will analyse your face from both a scientific and artistic perspective to evaluate the feasibility of different techniques. He will explain the possible changes and corrections, as well as the limitations of current and genuinely effective methods.
Together, you will then establish a therapeutic plan, surgical or medical, to address this disharmony you feel.
This is where cosmetic and plastic surgery offers various methods for correcting anatomical defects.
The second reason may be facial ageing, discordant with how old one feels.
A large part of facial surgery is devoted to rejuvenation. Time is merciless. Everyone ages, but unfortunately, not in the same way.
It is especially in the context of facial rejuvenation that one must be aware of the reality of results, which sometimes do not match unrealistic expectations.
Simple methods such as volumetric product injections in certain areas of the face, along with skin smoothing through Botox, can temporarily improve the patient's appearance, but cannot replace genuine facial rejuvenation through surgery.
There are many factors that directly influence skin ageing. These include:
• Excessive tanning, causing heliodermia (sun-induced ageing).
• Smoking, causing tobacco-related collagenosis.
• A destructive lifestyle, caused by an excessive workload.
• Daily stress.
• Alcohol consumption, drugs, etc.
Despite all of this, we must not forget that one of the main factors related to the quality of our ageing is our genetic heritage.
With age, the amount of collagen and elastin in the skin decreases, leading to reduced elasticity and firmness. The same applies to hyaluronic acid levels within the walls of our body's cells, which decrease drastically.
The skin becomes looser, drier and much more prone to wrinkles. Genetically, we all have different characteristics regarding skin elasticity and thickness. With gravity, facial skin begins to sag and droop. Subcutaneous fat drops towards the lower face, and facial volumes tend to diminish and become hollow.
This phenomenon can lead to undesirable physical consequences:
• Deep folds such as nasolabial folds appear.
• Wrinkles become increasingly visible.
• The skin loosens.
• The cheeks lose their volume.
• Jowls "break" and weigh down the facial contour.
• The neck stretches and wrinkles, and cervical folds appear.
• The eyelids droop.
• Bags form under the eyes.
To make a change to the face, a comprehensive approach is essential. This is extremely precise and delicate facial surgery. It must enhance your appearance harmoniously, while preserving the natural personality of your face. So natural that it should be invisible.
Change without changing...
Dr Weiss is familiar with the most modern techniques. He will analyse your case, advise you and describe the limitations of each usable method and the desired changes.
