Buttock Lift

The buttock lift or Brazilian Lift is a surgical technique that removes excess skin in the buttock region while simultaneously reshaping them, tightening the buttock skin, all with a scar generally well hidden within underwear.

In the context of cosmetic surgery, skin re-tensioning subjected to very high tension on the scars given the weight of buttock volume is not a stable procedure over time.

When the buttock lift is used only for skin distension in the case of minor imperfection, the tightened skin does not hold over time and results are not long-lasting.

There is a very significant risk of scar widening and renewed buttock ptosis.

The buttock lift is primarily performed in the context of reconstructive surgery, after massive weight loss when very significant excess skin exists: in this case, the buttock lift can be combined with abdominoplasty to become a circumferential abdominoplasty, also called body lift or circumferential dermolipectomy.
