Lip Augmentation Using Your Own Autologous Fat

Injection of your own autologous fat (lipofilling) permanently changes the shape and volume of your lips. The injected cells are composed of your own fat, previously harvested, and will follow your body's evolution throughout your life including weight changes.

The lipofilling procedure is performed in the operating room, most frequently under general anaesthesia.

Surgical Principles of Lipofilling

Fat is harvested with micro-cannulas from areas of excess fat (Dr Weiss frequently uses the inner knees, where even minimal reduction of fat deposits is always beneficial).

The fat is processed and centrifuged according to the Sydney Coleman method.

Isolated cells are deposited in the treatment areas using micro-cannulas, in the least traumatic way possible.

This procedure primarily augments the red part of the lips, adding volume, reshaping, and re-curling them for a more sensual appearance.

Initially, the lips may appear disproportionate and over-corrected (necessary with this technique), but after the oedema subsides and a certain percentage of grafted cells are resorbed, the surviving cells ensure the permanent result, achieving the desired harmonious volume.
