Breast Augmentation with Implants

Dr Weiss will carry out a thorough anatomical examination. He will take into account your medical history and current medical condition. By trying on the chosen implants in real fitting conditions, you will find the best compromise between your desire and the harmony of your silhouette integrated into your body image.

Dr Weiss will assess existing breast volume, the proportions of your breasts relative to your silhouette, skin quality (elasticity, tone, stretch marks), type of existing gland (fatty or glandular), and gland regularity.

Dr Weiss will present his opinion and discuss with you regarding your request. Guided by the most modern and safest technical knowledge, you will choose together the procedures that will give you the greatest satisfaction.

During this first consultation, photographs will be taken and you will be able to appreciate real results, as Dr Weiss will have you try on trial implants to assess harmony relative to your silhouette.

Dr Weiss will listen to your request, assess its feasibility and guide you so that you can achieve the optimal, natural and harmonious result; in short, so that your life changes and you are happy.

This often coincides with the anaesthetist visit. You will ask all your questions to Dr Weiss who will re-explain the planned surgical procedures and you will complete and sign all necessary documents for the procedure. You will proceed with pre-admission and room reservation.

During the 2nd consultation and re-fitting of implants, you will define the optimal volume and projection.

A mammogram is essential to avoid placing implants on an underlying condition.

As with any surgical procedure, it is advisable to reduce smoking, ideally stopping completely one month before and one month after the procedure. Smoking reduces healing speed and can increase the risks of infection and necrosis of operated areas. It also increases the risk of respiratory tract infections. Aspirin and NSAIDs (anti-inflammatory drugs) are prohibited during the two weeks prior to the procedure, as these medications cause heavier bleeding.

The lifespan of implants is conservatively estimated at 10 years; this period varies considerably from one manufacturer to another (PIP affair), and does not always have a scientific basis.

• The operation is performed under general anaesthesia
• The operation lasts 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on the agreed surgical procedures, if not combined with other operations

• Outpatient hospitalisation (same-day discharge), depending on the extent of the surgical procedure. If necessary, the stay can be extended by one night.
• Hospitalisation of 1 to 2 nights depending on the extent of the surgical procedure (discharged without dressings)
• The procedure and its aftermath are not very painful. Only simple painkillers are required.

• Showers permitted from the day of discharge from the clinic
• Physical discomfort present for two weeks

• Post-operative follow-up is essential, as a well-managed complication leaves little or no trace.
