Cosmetic Surgery > Male Cosmetic Surgery > Liposuction
Men's demands and the areas treated by liposuction are more limited than for women. The principles of liposuction remain the same as for women, but with certain particularities.
Male skin is typically much thicker and more elastic than female skin, which allows for liposuction of larger volumes. Skin retraction is of better quality, and the possibility of residual excess skin is much lower. Thick skin effectively conceals any post-liposuction surface irregularities.
The most frequently treated areas are the "love handles" (flanks) and the abdomen -- the abdominal fat surplus combined with love handle fat. Here, large-volume liposuction delivers extremely spectacular results: a loss of 2 to 3 clothing sizes is very common.
Every man's dream is to have a sculpted abdomen (six-pack), hence certain superficial liposuction procedures called "abdominal sculpting".
The liposuction technique called "Abdominal Etching" simulates developed abdominal muscles (six-pack) by remodelling the superficial fat surface of the abdomen. This technique does not deliver very convincing or natural results.
