Dermal Fillers by Cosmetic Surgeon Dr Weiss

1. Autologous Products

As soon as the first liposuction procedures were performed, Plastic Surgeons had the idea of reusing the extracted fat by re-injecting it into another area of the body for filling purposes. This technique of autologous fat re-injection, known as lipofilling, long proved disappointing: the re-injected fat tended to be resorbed in significant proportions, making results unpredictable and short-lived.

Results improved over time, but it was especially from 1995 onward that autologous fat re-injection, also called Lipostructure, became a truly reliable method (S. COLEMAN). The principle involves performing a genuine autograft of fat cells by re-injecting fat harvested from the patient themselves.

Lipostructure can be applied to a wide range of depressions (hollows), furrows -- whether natural or post-traumatic.

2. Heterologous Products

A dermal filler injection aims to correct, through a simple and rapid method, certain signs of aging or imperfections present on the face, by filling or adding volume where necessary.

It was in 1934 that hyaluronic acid, or hyaluronan -- a combination of uronic acid and an aminoglycan -- was discovered in the vitreous humor of bovine eyes.

The exceptional properties of this molecule have led to its use in numerous medical specialties, including ophthalmology (cataract surgery), ENT (vocal cord surgery), urology, and wound healing.

Over the past decade, this molecule has completely revolutionized the management of skin aging. The evolution of products, their proliferation, and advances in injection techniques have made it the cornerstone of aesthetic filling therapies, volume restoration, and revitalization.

Hyaluronic acid is now considered the gold standard product used in medical volumetric rejuvenation.

Dr Weiss exclusively uses Hyaluronic Acid Juvederm Ultra and Voluma by Allergan, compliant with the following requirements:
