Cosmetic Surgery > Face > Nose Structural Rhinoplasty
A nose that disrupts facial harmony draws attention.
Rhinoplasty is a cosmetic surgery procedure that reshapes the nose. It modifies the nose's size, shape, and projection. It is one of the most frequently performed cosmetic procedures worldwide, representing over 10% of all cosmetic surgeries in some countries.
This is a constantly evolving field with a multitude of techniques and increasingly predictable results. It corrects both objective and subjective nasal imperfections, restoring harmony with the face.
Modern rhinoplasty prioritises natural results, moving away from the older approach that often produced noses that were too short, disproportionate, and standardised.
Structural rhinoplasty addresses all types of nasal imperfections: dorsal humps, wide noses, deviated noses, tip asymmetries, breathing difficulties, and post-traumatic deformities. It is the procedure of choice for patients requiring comprehensive nasal reshaping.
The nose can be a source of significant psychological distress. Anyone who suffers because their nose does not match their body image may benefit from rhinoplasty.
Rhinoplasty can be performed from the end of bone growth (around 16-17 years old). There is no upper age limit — Dr Weiss also treats patients over 60 for tip ptosis (the nose that drops with age).
The nose holds an extremely important place in our body image. It is essential to achieve proportions in harmony with your face. At all costs, the "operated nose" effect must be avoided.
It is your surgeon's experience and expertise that will prevent over-correction and maintain the natural appearance of your nose. Dr Weiss, a European expert and member of the Rhinoplasty Society of Europe, adapts each technique for a harmonious result.
Choosing to undergo a rhinoplasty is a carefully considered decision. During the consultation, Dr Weiss performs a thorough clinical examination and discusses your expectations in detail.
Photo analysis and computer imaging help visualise potential results, while maintaining realistic expectations. A second consultation is always recommended to confirm the surgical plan.
In most cases, Dr Weiss requests an additional visit with an ENT specialist to confirm and refine the initial examination, particularly regarding nasal breathing function.
Structural rhinoplasty is the most comprehensive form of rhinoplasty. Rather than simply removing tissue, it restructures the nasal framework (bone and cartilage), providing more stable and predictable long-term results.
The technique allows correction of the dorsum, tip, nostrils, and septum in a single procedure. When a deviated septum correction is needed, it is called a rhino-septo-plasty.
The procedure is performed under general anaesthesia at an HAS-accredited clinic (A rating without reservation). Duration varies from 1.5 to 3 hours depending on complexity.
A nasal splint is worn for 7-10 days. Bruising around the eyes typically resolves within 10-14 days. Most patients return to social and professional activities after 2 weeks.
The final result is appreciated after 6-12 months, once all swelling has completely subsided. Regular follow-up appointments ensure optimal healing.
