The Chin

Through its shape or unsightly positioning, it can be the source of a real complex due to disharmony with other parts of the face. Too projected, too recessed, misshapen or doubled by a "double chin". Its relationship with the nose and lips is crucial for overall facial harmony.

This involves correcting imperfections of the chin and submental area. Reshaping this anatomical area consists of augmentation or reduction.

• The chin profile can be improved using surgical methods such as:
• Silicone implants
• Advancement osteotomy
• Reduction osteotomy
• However, most of these imperfections can currently be improved using less invasive methods:
• Wrinkles or chin dimples caused by muscle overactivity can be controlled with Botox injections.
• An insufficiently projected chin can be corrected very effectively with hyaluronic acid-based volumisers or with grafts of your own fat (lipofilling).
• Dr Weiss also uses liposuction in the context of facial contour surgery: this technique eliminates excess fatty tissue, especially in the submental area. The face becomes slimmer and younger. Liposuction is in this case a method that resolves these problems permanently.
